During Demonstrations
During my demonstrations, I used traditional instructional materials because this is more convenient to use and its more interactive because I let the pupils touch and arrange things on the board. Pupils love to see colorful and cute materials and their jive in learning will increase. Also, in my assessments I gave them paper works to accomplish that is not found on their book. I let them produce something that has a great value for them just like a valentine card for their parents, teachers and friends. One pupil wrote a letter for his dead father telling him that they are okay and he must be sad because he is alone and cannot have conversations anymore with his wife. This simple act already means a lot for him.
A tip to consider: Do not force a child to act like an adult. Let them be who they are. Let them act according to their age because a child undergoes that stage only once. So us teachers we should be patient and understanding towards our approach to our pupils.
